NaarksRelaisKNOW-HOW · HANDOVER · AI ASSISTANT

The founder retires. The know-how stays.

When a business changes hands, the keys, the books and the contracts are handed over. What the owner knows usually isn't. NaarksRelais captures it in a few guided interviews and gives the buyer an operations playbook and a bilingual AI assistant that answers the way the founder would.

WHY IT MATTERS

A business can be sold in a day. Thirty years of know-how can't be written down in one.

Every business runs on things nobody ever wrote down: which supplier to call when a delivery is late, which client wants a phone call before any change, how to price a rush job. When the owner retires, that knowledge leaves with them, and the buyer learns it the hard way.

Knowledge in one head

Suppliers, pricing rules, seasonal peaks and client habits live in the owner's memory, not in any system.

Clients notice

A missed habit or an unannounced change can cost a loyal client in the first months after a sale.

Buyers carry the risk

Buyers and their lenders are asked to trust a business whose most valuable knowledge isn't in the data room.

Owners worry about legacy

Many owners hesitate to sell because they fear what they built won't survive without them.

WHAT THE BUYER RECEIVES

Everything the founder knows, ready to use

Answers come with the interview they came from
FOUNDER AI ASSISTANT

Ask the founder, any time

The new owner and their team ask questions in plain words, the way they would ask the founder in the back office. The assistant answers from the owner's own interviews, in French or English, and shows which interview each answer comes from.

  • Answers in the language of the question, French or English
  • The source interview shown under every answer
  • Says plainly when the founder didn't cover something, instead of guessing
  • Remembers the conversation, so follow-up questions make sense

VOICE

Ask out loud, on the shop floor

Hands full of dough or a delivery at the door? Tap the microphone, ask the question out loud and listen to the answer. It works on a phone, a tablet or a computer, with nothing to install.

  • Speak your question in French or English
  • Answers read aloud in the language you asked in
  • Type instead whenever you prefer
  • Add it to your phone's home screen like an app

OPERATIONS PLAYBOOK

The business, written down at last

A structured guide to how the business really runs, written from the interviews and checked by the owner. It's the reference the buyer's team will reach for in the first months, and it stays useful long after.

  • Daily, weekly and seasonal routines
  • Suppliers, ordering habits and backup options
  • Pricing rules and the reasons behind them
  • The owner's lessons learned, in their own words
  • Downloadable and printable as a PDF
Key relationships map: the business at the centre, linked to its main clients, suppliers, staff and service providers, each with what they expect
Who matters, and what each one expects
KEY RELATIONSHIPS MAP

Keep the clients and suppliers who matter

Relationships are often the most valuable part of a business, and the easiest to lose. The map shows the clients, suppliers, staff and partners who matter most, with the habits, history and expectations behind each one.

  • Main clients, suppliers, staff and service providers
  • How each prefers to be contacted
  • What to avoid, and why
The interview archive: every recorded session with its topic, length and a searchable transcript
Every session, recorded and searchable
INTERVIEW ARCHIVE

The founder's own voice, kept for good

Every interview is kept as a recording and a transcript, organised by topic. When a detail matters, the buyer can go back to exactly what the founder said, and how they said it.

  • Recordings and transcripts for every session
  • Organised by topic and searchable
  • A lasting record of the founder's story for the family, the buyer and the team

QUESTIONS

Common questions

Who usually pays for NaarksRelais?

Most often the seller, because a business that comes with its know-how is easier to present to buyers. Sometimes the buyer pays, or the cost is shared as part of the deal. We can work with either side.

How much of the owner's time does it take?

About 1 to 2 hours a week for around six weeks. Interviews are conversations about the business the owner knows best, in person or by video, at times that suit them.

When is the best time to start?

As early as possible, ideally before the sale closes, while the owner is still running the business. We can also work during a transition period after the sale, as long as the owner is available for interviews.

Who can use the AI assistant?

The new owner and the people they choose, such as managers or key staff. Each business gets its own private, password-protected assistant. Nobody else can see it.

What if the assistant doesn't know the answer?

It says so plainly instead of guessing, and suggests adding the question to a follow-up session. During the 90 days of support in the Complete and Transfer Plus packages, we go back to the owner and add the answer.

Is the information kept confidential?

Yes. Every engagement is covered by a confidentiality agreement. Interviews, documents and the assistant are only shared with the people agreed with you.

Does it replace a transition period with the owner?

No, it makes it go further. A transition period ends; the playbook, the archive and the assistant stay with the business, and keep answering after the owner has moved on.

Which languages are available?

French and English. The owner can be interviewed in one language and the buyer can ask questions in the other.

Can I try it before deciding?

Yes. Try the live demo with Denis, a fictional retired baker, and book a free 30-minute knowledge check to see how it would work for your business.

Who builds NaarksRelais?

Naarks Consulting, a software, IoT and AI company based in Brossard, Quebec, with more than 19 years of experience building business software and system integrations.
